It’s Christmas, Quinta style! Come and join us for our very special children’s event Saturday, December 12th at 10:00 am. Preschoolers will make crafts, take a special trail walk, enjoy story time with Quinta’s very own Mrs. Mann, and eat some delicious cookies! Don’t forget to come in your jammies and stop by to visit with Santa Claus! Boys and girls don’t miss out on all the fun!
What could be more fun for young ones ages 3-5 than attending the Buckets of Fun Tot Program on Thursday mornings at Quinta Mazatlan! Beginning September 10th and continuing through December, tots will have their very own nature program from 10-11 a.m.
By having a focused topic each week, the children attending “Buckets of Fun” on Thursdays learn specific information about a topic related to the
eco-system at Quinta Mazatlan.
The program, especially created for early childhood learners, was developed by Virginia Mann, Education Coordinator. The weekly nature themes not only inform but also entertain young children with age appropriate activities. The morning begins with an opportunity for “nature families” to enjoy being outdoors. Check out the butterfly garden, Bernie’s Pond, the hummingbird shower or sit and watch birds and squirrels enjoying their breakfast. Next, Mrs. Mann uses children’s books, puppets, songs, poems and hands on activities to help develop the theme for the day. The nature trail walk which follows, helps reinforce the concepts taught earlier. Children learn to not only be observers but to be nature helpers by watering plants, spreading seeds or feeding birds. The morning fun continues with the children having the opportunity to make an eco-craft to take home that will remind them of the day’s theme.
Free time in nature is also of utmost importance. At the conclusion of the program children have an opportunity to dig, rake, climb, hoe discover and appreciate while enjoying the company of their new nature friends. Parents can also enjoy some outdoor time with other parents of toddlers and are welcomed to bring snacks and drinks for their children.
The fee is $2.00 per child and seniors 65+ and $3 for adults. Pre-registration is not required unless you plan to bring a large group. If you plan to attend numerous programs, you might be interested in yearly membership to Quinta Mazatlan.
